The mission of Peyton Preschool is to provide a quality, structured, inclusive program that responds to the needs of young children and their families. Our program integrates two curriculums: World of Wonders and Second Step, both of which support kindergarten readiness with foundational skills that include:
• Development of social-emotional skills
• Understanding daily routines, expectations, and personal responsibility
• Introduction to letters with a focus on oral language, knowledge-building, and listening comprehension
• Math content that is developmental and recursive
• Integration of science, social studies, and music
(Preschool students also attend P.E. twice a week and the library once a week.)
-> Peyton Preschool operates during the school year, Monday-Thursday with two part-time classes: 7:40am-10:40am and 12:25pm-3:25pm. Placement cannot be guaranteed for the morning or afternoon class.
-> Per school district policy, families enrolling in Peyton Preschool must live in the Peyton School District and children are required to be age four by September 30th. Three-year-old children are accepted if they qualify for special education services.
-> Parents or caregivers are responsible for dropping off and picking up their children. The school district does not provide bus transportation for preschool students.
