Fourth-grade students will master reading comprehension concepts, including summarizing, inferencing, and analyzing text. We practice grammar skills with Daily Language Instruction each morning, and reading and writing each afternoon with StoryWorks. Students apply their skills to social studies and science concepts such as economics, geography, and Colorado and American History. We use Pearson for Social Studies, and Mystery Science to explore science.
In mathematics, students will excel in complex problem solving, mathematical operations such as multiplication, division, fractions, and multiple concepts regarding geometry and measurement. We use Pearson Math each morning and MobyMax to practice concepts in the afternoon.
Mrs. Lenart
Hi! My name is Claudette Lenart, and I am teaching 4th grade at Peyton Elementary School. I have been at the Peyton School District since 2021. My goal in teaching is to help students find joy in learning and a desire to know more. I believe a classroom should be filled with laughter and learning. I know each student learns at their own pace, and in their own way, and I can’t wait to help them at this step in their education journey.
I am from a small town in Northern California. I graduated from Sacramento State University with a degree in Sociology. I am currently pursuing my Master's in Education from UCCS. My husband served 10 years in the Military, which allowed us to move around and explore new places. We decided to put down roots in Peyton, CO, to raise our two girls. We love going to Disneyland and being outside as often as we can. Some of my favorite pastimes are hiking with family, searching Pinterest for fun things to do with my girls, and playing with our dog Luke.
Mrs. Warkentine
Hello, my name is Pam Warkentine. I am excited to teach 4th grade at Peyton Elementary! I am looking forward to working with my students and their families and having a fun and amazing school year. I have been teaching since 2018. I am a Colorado native. I have lived in the Peyton area with my husband and three children since 2014 (my two older sons are Peyton High School graduates). In my free time, I love spending time with my family, playing with my adorable puppy, reading, hiking, kayaking, backpacking, camping, and going to the beach.
