Join Peyton’s Girl Scout troop!
Peyton’s Girl Scout troop is open to girls in grades K-12. We participate in fun activities to earn badges, fun patches, and highest awards in Girl Scouts. Some of our past activities have included tours of a pet store, medical clinic, and wolf rescue center; taking yoga, jewelry-making, and pottery classes; learning about first aid through the Peyton Fire Department; learning about hiking and camping through Fountain Creek Nature Center; and going camping at the Sand Dunes, Rocky Mountain National Park, and Mueller State Park. To raise funds for these activities, we participate in the annual Girl Scout cookie sales. Meetings are most Fridays. Silver Award Recipients
Two of our girls earned the Silver Award, the 2nd highest award in Girl Scouting. Crystal and Emi designed and built a Book Box for students at Peyton Elementary School. Students can access this box after school hours to trade books to read.
Bronze Award Recipients
Four of our girls previously earned the Bronze Award, the 3rd highest award in Girl Scouting. Emi, Crystal, Rhianna, and Sara learned about Defensible Space and Disaster Preparedness. They put together a sample Disaster Master kit, along with a list of items to include in the kit. They also created a Defensible Space flyer. The kit was on display at the Peyton Fire Department’s Community Picnic in August and the girls passed out the flyers and talked to community members about the information they learned. A huge thank you goes out to the Peyton Fire Department, especially Nathan, for all their help and support.
Abi also earned her Bronze award by building bird boxes and placing them in the community.
Leaders needed!
Adult leaders are needed for the Peyton Girl Scout troop. We are a multi-level troop in needs of leaders at various levels: Daisy Scouts (K-1), Brownie Scouts (Grades 2-3), Junior Scouts (Grades 4-5), and Cadette Scouts (Grades 6-8). Join us in the fun and share your skills with girls! You will need to:
- Become a member of Girl Scouts.
- Register as a volunteer, and complete a background check
- Complete the required training, which includes an online orientation and in-person training session. Additional training is available along the way.
