Fourth grade students will master concepts of reading comprehension to include summarizing, inferencing, and analyzing text. We practice grammar skills with Daily Language Instruction each morning, and reading and writing each afternoon with StoryWorks. Students apply their skills to various social studies and science concepts such as economics, geography, and Colorado and American History. We use Pearson for Social Studies, and Mystery Science for the exploration of science.
As for mathematics, students will excel in complex problem solving and mathematical operations such as multiplication, division, fractions, and multiple concepts regarding geometry and measurement. We use Pearson math each morning, and MobyMax for practicing concepts in the afternoon.

We hope you will find this page helpful in accessing many resources for your students. Two of our subject areas have curriculum that can be found online.
Students can access our math curriculum at www.pearsonrealize.com. Students are assigned a user name and password, and can log in at any time from any computer with an internet connection. This website will allow students and parents to access resources to help with homework and basic skills practice.
Students can also practice extra skills at home using www.mobymax.com/co1319. They have a user name (their proper first name) and a password that has been assigned to them earlier. This is a great way to easily fill gaps and increase growth with a short amount of time.
We hope that you will find these resources helpful and will use them frequently. If you have any questions, please feel free to send one of us an email. We look forward to seeing the growth your child will make this year.
Hello! My name is Ruth Perez and I teach fourth grade at Peyton Elementary. My passion is not just to teach students, but to develop in each child a love for learning and a desire to seek out new knowledge! I love the hard questions, challenges, and the curiosity that comes with inquisitive minds and believe that every child learns in a unique way.
I spent my teenage years in Peyton, graduated from UCCS with a degree in psychology (focused on child development), and received my Masters in Elementary Education while living in Virginia. I enjoy exploring other cultures and learning from people around the world. I spent quite a bit of time traveling, teaching, and living abroad in Asia; which is how I met my husband. We now have two adorable boys and I hope one day to show them the world. My favorite pastimes are traveling, working with animals, and watching my kids discover and enjoy life.
Hi! My name is Claudette Lenart and I am teaching 4th grade at Peyton Elementary School. I have been at Peyton School District since 2021. My goal in teaching is to help students find a joy in learning and a want to know more. I believe a classroom should be filled with laughter and learning. I know each student learns at their own pace, and in their own way and I can’t wait to help them at this step in their education journey.
I am from a small town in Northern California. I graduated from Sacramento State University with a degree in Sociology. I am currently pursuing my Masters in Education from UCCS. My husband served 10 years in the Military which let us move around and explore new places. We decided to put roots down in Peyton, CO to raise our two girls. We love going to Disneyland and being outside as often as we can. Some of my favorite past times are hiking with family, searching Pinterest for fun things to do with my girls and playing with our dog Luke.
