2nd Grade

Second grade students will work towards mastery on organizational and time management skills so they can apply these abilities into becoming exceptional learners. They will be able to fluently read and comprehend types of literary genres while applying higher order thinking skills in each text. Second graders will learn how to develop and write detailed paragraphs for the appropriate audience. In math, students will master addition and subtraction facts as well as understand the process of multiplication and division facts. Additionally, second graders will learn how to read and explain time to the quarter hour on analog clocks, and they will be able to count all coins and bills while relating money to story problems. We will use interdisciplinary learning throughout the week to implement real world applications.

Hello!  I’m Mrs. Green.  I have been employed at Peyton Elementary School since 2010. I have had the opportunity to work with Special Education and Title I Reading. This allowed me to work with grades Kindergarten through 6th providing support with reading, writing, and math.  Currently I teach 2nd grade.  I am a proud Panther graduate, having attended grades K through twelfth here. I have been married since 1999. We have one daughter, Ryleigh, who attends Peyton High School.
